Longman English Interactive 1 is the entry level of a 4-level, video-based, integrated skills program that includes over 100 hours of instruction per level. The program provides presentation and practice in grammar, speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading and writing.

System Requirements
* Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2 (or higher), or Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5 (or higher)
* Non-English Windows 2000 systems require the Professional edition
* Pentium II processor 400+ MHz
* 64+ MB RAM (128 MB recommended)
* 16-bit graphics card
* Monitor resolution of 800 x 600 or higher
* Sound card, microphone, and speakers (Microphones plugged into USB ports are not supported.)
* 10X CD-ROM drive
* Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher (Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher recommended) (Note: Netscape and AOL browser software are not supported.)
* Macromedia's Flash 5 (or higher) and Shockwave 8 (or higher), Apple's QuickTime 5 (or higher), and Sun's Java 1.4.1 (or higher) plug-ins. (Note: If your computer does not have these plug-ins, they will be installed automatically when you install the course.)
* Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 (or higher) software
* Floppy disk drive (for saving student data) (Lab Workstation Version only)

Please follow the steps below to install the software on Windows Vista.

STEP 1: Enable Windows DEP
1. Click on Start and then click Control Panel
1. If you're in Classic View, click System
2. If you're in Control Panel Home View, click System Maintenance and then click System
2. To the left of the screen under tasks, click Advanced System Settings
3. Select the Advanced tab, and then within the Performance section click the Settings button.
4. Select the Data Execution Prevention tab
5. Click Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only
6. Click APPLY, then OK
7. Close all windows

STEP 2: Install Software
1. Navigate to the CD-ROM drive, by clicking Start then My Computer
2. Right-click the drive and select OPEN
3. Double-click the Longman folder
4. Right-click on longman.exe and click Properties
5. Select the Compatibility tab
6. Click Run this program in compatibility mode to add a check mark to the box
7. Select Windows 2000 from the drop-down list
8. Click Apply, then OK
9. Double-click longman.exe to start the installation
10. Follow the steps to complete the installation

STEP 3: Install software updater where necessary
1. Click here to download the updater/patch.
2. Save the file to your desktop.
3. After the download completes, right-click on the downloaded executable file and then click on Properties.
4. Click on the Compatibility tab.
5. Click on Run this program in compatibility mode to add a check mark to the box.
6. Select Windows 2000 from the drop-down list.
7. Click Apply, then OK.
8. Double-click on the executable file to start the installation on the updater.
9. Follow the steps to complete the installation

If you have any error, please go to http://www.pearsonlongmansupport.com/cd_roms/eng/pcdp_courses.htm#23, download the updates for Longman English Interactive 1-4 US, run the updates once for each level (English Interactive 1, 2, 3, and 4). After that, the software works properly.
